Join us on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 8:00pm for the 2014 Winter Concert “Holiday Quilt”. This concert will feature “a delightful collection of numbers of various styles and themes,” said Ted Odenwald, President of the North Jersey Chorus.
Led by our accompanist Robert Legacy, Jr., and guest conductor Evan Tintle Charpentier, the North Jersey Chorus will perform classic holiday songs such as “Jingle Bell Rock” and “God Rest You, Merry Gentlemen” as well as more modern songs including “Where Are You Christmas” and “The Colors of Christmas”.
The Van Riper Ellis Broadway Baptist Church is located at 7-01 River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Tickets are available from any Chorus member or at the door the night of the concert.
This concert, the North Jersey Chorus is proud to welcome and introduce Guest Conductor Evan Tintle Charpentier. A Cum Laude graduate of Vassar College in 2003 with a BA double major in music and drama, receiving Honors in Music, Evan holds a Master of Music degree from Montclair State University in 2007. Evan began her study of voice at age thirteen. Her studies have brought her to Spoleto, Italy, for the Spoleto Arts Symposium, and given her the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with such figures as Mira Zakai, Ned Rorem, and Zehava Gall.
She has performed such roles as The Secretary in Menotti‘s The Consul, Queen Elisabeth in scenes from Britten’s Gloriana, Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffman, the Soprano in Tom Johnson’s contemporary solo piece, Drawers, and the premiere of The Whiskey Pete Cycle, a Joey Gillis composition concerning the use by the U.S. of white phosphorus in Fallujah. An avid theater/musical theater fan, Evan recently performed in the Vagina Monologues and as Lucy in Avenue Q, both with Old Library Theater in Fair Lawn.
In addition to performing, Evan has also taught voice and piano for studios in Denville, Wayne, Pompton Lakes, and Cliffside Park; she now teaches at the Olive Tree Music Academy, in Morristown, and privately out of Garfield. Evan is an accomplished liturgical musician, having worked as a section leader and soloist for the United Methodist Church of Bernardsville; currently, she is the Music Director for Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield. Evan is very pleased and grateful to step in for Marie Harrington for the upcoming performance of “A Holiday Quilt” and deeply enjoys her time working with the choristers of North Jersey.
We look forward to seeing you there!
